Bamboo People: A Novel

Bamboo People - Mitali Perkins Took a little bit to get going but after say 40 pages I shot through the rest. Very much worth reading to get the POV of people living in utterly different circumstances. I enjoyed it for the setting as much as the story—and the Tolkien ref at the end didn't hurt. The author skipped some obvious coincidences, which was enjoyable. (For Boston readers/visitors: don't miss Yoma, a most excellent Burmese restaurant!)
